Introduction
This film series is based on the Harry Potter series of novels written by J. K. Rowling and consists of eight movies in the fantasy genre.
The first novel was released in June 1997, and since then, the entire novel series gained immense popularity and commercial success worldwide. Warner Bros. Pictures adapted the original seven books into the film series, beginning with the first movie being released in 2001.
Synopsis
This series follows the life of Harry Potter, a young wizard who learns he is famous in the wizarding world for surviving an attack by the powerful dark wizard Lord Voldemort as a baby. Over seven years at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Harry, along with his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, uncover dark secrets and confront dangerous challenges.
Throughout the years, Harry realizes that Lord Voldemort is slowly regaining power, and he becomes a central figure in fighting him and the dark forces. Voldemort returns in Harry's fourth year of school, and Harry eventually learns that the dark wizard's immortality lies in objects called "Horcruxes". Him and his friends search for the Horcruxes throughout the final movies in order to destroy them, and the plot ends with a final battle between the good and dark forces of the wizarding world.
The turning point is Harry learning that he himself is a Horcrux, leading to Harry surrendering to Voldemort in order to end the war once and for all. However, while the defenders of Hogwarts continued to fight on, Harry entered a state of limbo and was ultimately resurrected. Finally, Harry faced Voldemort for the last time and killed him.
The movies end with a jump to 19 years forward, showing the trio's future lives, where they send of their kids to Hogwarts.
